The True Vine
My Father tends a vineyard —
In which His love is sown.
He plants the seeds, removes the weeds,
And cares for what is grown.
His chosen vine was Judah —
Selected from the start.
But Judah sinned and chased the wind
And broke My Father's heart.
He brought them out of bondage
But they were led astray.
He kept them fed with daily bread
But still they turned away.
My Father owns a vineyard —
Where I'm the One, True Vine;
Abide in Me, I will, in thee,
And ask what shall be thine.
Each branch in Me that's barren
Is cast into the flame.
But those that bear are pruned that there
May be more of the same.
A branch cannot be fruitful
Without the vine above.
So, neither can the power of man
Bear fruit outside My love.
In which His love is sown.
He plants the seeds, removes the weeds,
And cares for what is grown.
His chosen vine was Judah —
Selected from the start.
But Judah sinned and chased the wind
And broke My Father's heart.
He brought them out of bondage
But they were led astray.
He kept them fed with daily bread
But still they turned away.
My Father owns a vineyard —
Where I'm the One, True Vine;
Abide in Me, I will, in thee,
And ask what shall be thine.
Each branch in Me that's barren
Is cast into the flame.
But those that bear are pruned that there
May be more of the same.
A branch cannot be fruitful
Without the vine above.
So, neither can the power of man
Bear fruit outside My love.
"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser."
