Based on the scriptures found in The Purpose-Driven Life – Day 35
My Weakness is Your Strength
Based on 1 Corinthians 1:27; 2 Corinthians 4:7; 12:7-10
You purposely use what is weak and what’s lame —
what’s foolish in this world’s eyes;
confounding the mighty and causing them shame,
confusing the great and the wise.
I’m merely a vessel of clay that’s been thrown —
containing your treasure within.
For you have the power — I’ve none of my own;
you use me in spite of my sin.
To keep me from boasting, to humble my pride —
I’m touched with a measure of grief.
For I have been given a thorn in my side
from which I have found no relief.
But you say your grace is sufficient for me —
my faults are made perfect in you.
So, gladly I’ll boast in my weakness to see
your glorious powers shine through.
Now I will take pleasure in bearing this thorn —
when difficult times come along.
For you, I will face the contempt and the scorn.
For when I am weak, I’m made strong.
