My father once gave me a mission to do — 
it took my last breath but I carried it through.
So likewise I’m giving a mission to you
          that you have your life to achieve.
Go forth, make disciples wherever you tread;
baptizing and teaching in all that I’ve said.
The blood of the lost will be placed on your head
          should they have no chance to believe.
I’ll give you the power and strength that you need
to reach every nation, each color and creed;
to master their language so they, too, might read
          that I am the Truth and the Light.
With patience, press on with the task I’ve assigned.
The sun is now fading — there isn’t much time;
when daylight has gone, in the end you will find
          that all work must cease for the night.
So look for my coming — that day’s very close.
While many keep guessing when, nobody knows;
and neither do I know the time that he chose:
          my father — alone — knows the hour.
Allow me to use you for my holy plans:
my words on your lips and my touch in your hands.
I’m with you at home or in far-away lands,
          so rest in the strength of my power.

Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples.  Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you.
