Based on the scriptures found in The Purpose-Driven Life – Day 14

Forget Me Not

Based on Psalm 10:1; Psalm 22:1; Job 23:8-10; Job 1:20-21
O where!  O where, Lord, can you be?
And why have you forsaken me?
Ignoring all my pain and fears,
I'm drowning in a pool of tears.

If I go east — you are not there.
Out west — I've sought you everywhere.
I travel north — you can't be found.
Down south — you're simply not around.

But you have always known my mind,
and proven me as gold refined.
Lord, you will find me innocent
for you alone know my intent.

Stark naked I arrived from birth
and naked will I leave this earth.
For nothing in this world was mine
and all I have I'll leave behind.

You've blessed my life, Lord, day by day —
but you could take it all away.
How can I question your just ways?
No, may your name be ever praised.

Psalm 10:1 (LB)
Lord, why are you standing aloof and far away?  Why do you hide when I need you the most?

Psalm 22:1 (NLT)
Why have you forsaken me?  Why do you remain so distant?  Why do you ignore my cries for help?

Job 23:8-10 (NLT)
I go east, but he is not there.  I go west, but I cannot find him.  I do not see him in the north, for he is hidden.  I turn to the south, but I cannot find him.  But he knows where I am going.  And when he has tested me like gold in a fire, he will pronounce me innocent.

Job 1:20-21 (NIV)
Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart.  The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.
