The Messiah has Come
There’s laughing in Bethlehem — follow the sound
To Mary and Joseph with no one around
Alone with their son — in the center of town
          In the center of God’s perfect will
                    God with us — Emmanuel’s come
                             
There’s singing in Bethlehem — follow the sky
Where angels have come down from glory on high
Announcing to shepherds — salvation is nigh
          God’s promise to man is fulfilled
                    For the One that was promised has come
                    
There’s wonder in Bethlehem — follow the star
That wise men have followed from countries afar
To worship a child with gifts from their heart
          To worship this Child of Light
                    For the Light of the world has come
 
There’s sorrow in Bethlehem — follow the stain
Of blood from the children they’ve slaughtered in vain
But soon will be time for the Lamb to be slain
          And offer these children new life
                    For He’s come — the Messiah has come
