The Good Shepherd
I am the gentle Shepherd —
I'll keep you safe and warm;
Through lightning flash and thunder crash
I'll hold you through the storm.
When walking through the valleys
You shall not walk alone.
Through foreign lands I'll take your hand
And lead you safely home.
I'm with the nine and ninety
Securely in the fold,
Yet search to find that lamb of mine
Still lost out in the cold.
I am the master Shepherd —
Who dies to save His sheep.
The hired one will wake and run
When dangers break his sleep.
I'll lead you by still waters,
So cool and pure and clean;
And then we'll pass through meadow grass
And rest in fields of green.
I'll shepherd you forever
If you would be My lamb;
For when you leave this world of grief,
You'll join me where I am.
I'll keep you safe and warm;
Through lightning flash and thunder crash
I'll hold you through the storm.
When walking through the valleys
You shall not walk alone.
Through foreign lands I'll take your hand
And lead you safely home.
I'm with the nine and ninety
Securely in the fold,
Yet search to find that lamb of mine
Still lost out in the cold.
I am the master Shepherd —
Who dies to save His sheep.
The hired one will wake and run
When dangers break his sleep.
I'll lead you by still waters,
So cool and pure and clean;
And then we'll pass through meadow grass
And rest in fields of green.
I'll shepherd you forever
If you would be My lamb;
For when you leave this world of grief,
You'll join me where I am.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
