The Final Sacrifice

And God declared to Israel
his sacrificial laws;
how blood was spilled
which things were killed
unblemished — without flaws.

Two lambs were slaughtered daily
on altars made of stone;
their blameless lives
cut short with knives
let Israel be atoned.

For God so loved the world
he gave his only son;
this Son of Man
as final lamb
has spoken — it is done!
