Psalm 8
For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by a stringed instrument.
O LORD, Jehovah, how majestic
is your name in all the earth!
Your glory's seen from east to west, it
fills the realms of heaven's girth.
From children's mouths and infants, nursing,
praising strength that you ordain
to still your enemies, dispersing,
quelling foes till none remain.
When I consider heaven's ocean:
vast and endless outer space;
the works your fingers put in motion,
setting moon and stars in place —
why pay attention to man solely?
Why observe the human race?
You've made him just below the holy,
clothed in honor, crowned with grace.
You've given him dominion over
all creation from your hand:
the sheep and cattle in the clover,
wild beasts that roam this land,
the birds of heaven, flying, nested,
fish that swim beneath the serf.
O LORD, Jehovah, how majestic
is your name in all the earth!
O LORD, Jehovah, how majestic

Your glory's seen from east to west, it
