Psalm 75
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do Not Destroy.” A Psalm of Asaph.
We give you our thanks, God; we give you our praise!
We're thankful since your name is near us always.
Because of your wonderful works, men declare.
You say, Judgement's coming and I will be fair.
When all of the earth and inhabitants fade,
I'll hold up and steady its pillars I've made.
Selah [Interlude]
I say to the foolish, Stop boasting with scorn.
I say to the wicked, Don't lift up your horn.
Don't lift up your fists and display disrespect.
Don't speak out in arrogance or be stiff-necked.
From east nor the west — there are none that exist;
nor out from the desert can one raise his fist.
But God is the judge — he alone — once for all,
decides who will rise up and who will yet fall.
For there is a cup in the hand of the LORD:
his wrath mixed with spices and wine to be poured
and drunk by the wicked, consumed by the vain,
and emptied till only the dregs yet remain.
But I will forever declare him and bring
to Jacob's God all of my praises to sing.
I'll cut off the wicked's horns and the corrupt,
but horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
