Psalm 62
To the Chief Musician; to Jeduthun [Ethan, the noted musician, founder of an official musical family]. A Psalm of David.
In silence my soul waits on God patiently;
for only from him comes my one true salvation.
And truly my rock and salvation is he;
my fortress where I cannot ever be shaken.
How long will you threaten the life of one man?
I feel like a bowed wall or fence that is broken.
To throw me down from a great height is their plan;
I'm blessed by their lips, but their curse is unspoken.
Selah [Interlude]
Let all that I am wait on God quietly,
for only from him is my sole expectation.
And surely my rock and salvation is he;
my fortress where I cannot ever be shaken.
Salvation and glory are found in God's rest;
in God is my refuge, the rock of my power.
Put trust in him always and you will be blessed;
and pour out your heart for our God is our tower.
Selah [Interlude]
The low-born are worthless, like vapor — a puff;
the highborn are liars that none should believe in.
If weighed both together, they'd weigh less than fluff;
together, they're lighter than air that you'd breathe in.
Don't count on oppression — nor riches you hoard.
God spoke once — I heard twice: God's strength is forever;
your love and devotion is steadfast, O LORD.
You render the deeds from the lives men endeavor.
In silence my soul waits on God patiently;
