Psalm 29

A psalm of David.

Ascribe to the LORD, mighty sons born of heaven,
ascribe to the LORD exaltation and might.
Ascribe to the LORD's name the glory that's due him;
and worship the LORD in his holiness bright.

The voice of the LORD echoes over the waters;
God's thunderous glory roars over the sea.
The powerful voice of the LORD is quite awesome;
the voice of the LORD is supreme majesty.

The voice of the LORD snaps the mightiest cedars;
the cedars of Lebanon, splintered and torn.
He makes so that Lebanon skips like a heifer;
and Sirion jumps like a young unicorn.

The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.
The voice of the LORD makes the wilderness shake;
he makes barren wastelands of Kadesh to tremble,
the voice of the LORD causes deserts to quake.

The voice of the LORD makes deer calve prematurely,
it twists the strong trunks and the limbs of the oak;
the voice of the LORD will strip bare every forest,
and shouts from his temple of, Glory! are spoke.

The LORD sat enthroned on the depths of the Deluge;
the LORD reigns as King and his rule shall not cease.
The LORD will give power and strength to his people;
the LORD, he will bless his own people with peace.
