Psalm 26
A psalm of David.
O LORD, give to me vindication;
I've trusted in you from the start.
Conduct, LORD, an investigation;
examine my mind and my heart.
Your steadfast love always before me,
by faith in your truth have I stepped.
The vain and the lying abhor me;
no friendship with fools have I kept.
I've hated their evil assembly,
refusing their wicked accord.
I wash my hands of them intently,
and come to your altar, O LORD,
proclaiming aloud in thanksgiving,
and singing your wonders besides.
I love, LORD, the house where you're living,
the place where your glory resides.
Don't sweep my soul up with the guilty,
nor grind me with blood-thirsty grist.
The plans in their hands have been filthy,
while clutching their bribes in their fist.
I'm blameless and walk in perfection;
redeem me in mercifulness.
The ground's firm in every direction;
the LORD will I publicly bless.
