Psalm 151

A prayer of thanks
I cannot thank you, Lord, enough
for your unending, perfect love
that rains below and shines above —
        how could I ask for more?

I may not ever understand
the works and wonders of your hand
until I reach your promised land
        beyond this earthly shore.

The grandeur of your majesty
is greater than my faculty —
how could you love humanity?
        How can you still love me?

Lord, grant me faith that I might know
that you are near when I am low;
believe in things that do not show,
        or that are yet to be.
