Psalm 135
Praise the LORD!
Praise the name of Jehovah! Yes, praise him!
Those who serve the LORD, praise him and laud;
all who serve in the house of Jehovah,
in the courts of the house of our God.
Praise the LORD, for the LORD's full of goodness;
sing his praise in a most pleasing tone.
For the LORD's chosen Jacob's descendants,
and the Israelites just for his own.
For I know that Jehovah is greater,
and the LORD's above all gods we know.
The LORD does as he pleases in heaven,
in the earth, in the seas and below.
He makes clouds rise with mist and with vapors
from the ends of the earth where they soar;
he sends lightning with rain that is falling,
brings the wind from his secretive store.
He destroyed all the firstborn of Egypt,
sons of men and of beasts did he strike.
He sent wonders and signs throughout Egypt,
upon Pharaoh and servants alike.
He defeated and crushed many nations,
great and mighty kings also were felled.
Of the Amorites, he slew king Sihon;
and king Og with the kings Canaan held.
And he gave their land as a possession,
to his people for their very own.
O Jehovah, your name lasts forever,
LORD, your name through the ages is known.
To his people, the LORD will give justice,
on his servants, compassion is laid.
All the idols of nations of silver
and of gold — they are simply man-made.
They have mouths but they always say nothing,
they can't see with the eyes in their head.
They have ears and yet they have no hearing;
with no breath in their mouth, they are dead.
Those who make them will soon be just like them,
as those placing their trust in them will.
House of Israel, oh praise Jehovah;
house of Aaron, oh praise the LORD still.
House of Levi, oh praise LORD Jehovah;
those who fear the LORD, praise him as well.
Bless and praise LORD Jehovah from Zion,
for Jerusalem's where he will dwell.
Praise the LORD!
