Psalm 112
Praise the LORD!
Oh, how blest is the man who shows fear of the LORD,
and who finds great delight in obeying his word.
For his seed will be great and find earthly success;
yes, that whole generation will truly be blest.
They themselves will hold wealth in their houses for sure,
and their deeds, good and righteous, will ever endure.
In the dark, for the godly, is the shine of a light;
he is merciful, gracious, forgiving and right.
It is well with the man who lends freely and shares;
who conducts with discretion his business affairs.
Surely he who is righteous won't falter or fail;
he's remembered forever in loving detail.
He will not fear the news of an evil report,
for his heart has been fixed and he trusts in the LORD.
His heart's fearless and steadfast — his confidence shows,
till, in triumph, he looks on the face of his foes.
He shares freely and scatters his gifts to the poor;
and his deeds and his righteousness ever endure;
while his horn is exalted and praised evermore.
When the wicked man sees this, he'll grieve and be vexed,
and start gnashing his teeth in his anger, perplexed;
for the death of his dreams will but surely come next.
