Our Family
Children are great blessings that God gives us in our home,
Who bring us many happy hours, they are our very own.
We need to look to God above for guidance every day,
It takes much love and patience as we work or when we play.
The Lord has given us the task to teach and lead them right,
So we must watch the steps we take, and make the pathway bright.
A child will follow in our steps wherever we may lead,
So we must choose the right steps, or it may be sad indeed.
We want each one to grow and learn to love and serve the Lord,
So we must teach them when they’re young to daily read His word,
To thank Him for His tender care and take their needs to Him,
To lead them and direct their ways and keep them from all sin.
For some of them the time did come for them to leave our home,
Have chosen life companions and have homes now of their own.
And now there are grandchildren who have joined our family,
All are loved so very much and are dear as they can be.
You see, our family’s grown and we accept them as our own
And love each one so dearly as we make them feel at home.
But there is a loved one missing, and his place is vacant here,
A husband, father, grandpa, who to us was very dear.
But he’s waiting up in Heaven, for us to join him there,
And when our work on earth is done, he’ll Heaven with us share.
So now we number twenty-six, our family is still growing.
They all mean all the world to me, my love to them keeps flowing.
They are the best, I’d not exchange, no not for any other.
Lord grant me patience, strength and love to be a godly mother.
And help me to the grandchildren be a true example giving,
If I can be just this to all, I think life is worth living.
