Opus I |
First Impressions Last
|
Part I
Impressions made That never fade, But from the very start, Leave fragments, saved, Of time engraved Upon the tender heart. The moment’s past But yet will last Long after ink and quill; The moment’s gone, But yet lives on: Impressions always will. Part II Emotions felt That never melt, Inscribed as on a scroll; Both joy and pain Will long remain Imprinted on the soul. For time and space Cannot erase That page of treasured thought; Nor will they let The heart forget Those things the past forgot. |
