Psalm 11
For the director of music. Of David.
In the LORD do I trust. How can you say to me:
Fly away like a bird to the mountains and flee!
Look, the wicked bend bows till their bowstrings are taut,
then fit arrows to fly from the shadows when shot,
to be aimed at the man who is upright and true.
When foundations collapse, what can righteous men do?
But the LORD, on his throne in his temple on high,
watches closely to test sons of men with his eye.
Oh, the LORD tests the righteous, their judgement awaits;
but the wicked and those who love violence, he hates.
He will rain down coals blazing with sulfur that burns;
fire and brimstone, scorched winds — what their wickedness earns.
For Jehovah is righteous, loves justice and grace;
for this reason, the upright will then see his face.
