Proverbs 15
An answer that's gentle will turn wrath away,
but anger's stirred up with harsh words that you say.
The tongue of the wise commends knowledge to all,
but mouths of the foolish spew folly with gall.
The eyes of Jehovah can see everywhere,
observing both evil and good people there.
Soft words of the tongue are like life-giving trees,
but tongues of persersion crush spirits with ease.
A father's instruction, the fool will despise,
but he who will heed such correction is wise.
The house of the righteous holds treasures so vast,
but wealth of the wicked will not ever last.
The lips of the wise will have knowledge to share,
but hearts of the fools will be empty and bare.
The LORD hates the sacrifice wicked prepare,
but he will delight in the upright man's prayer.
The way of the wicked is shown the LORD's wrath,
but he loves the ones who pursue the right path.
Chastisement is harsh when the way is passed by,
whoever despises correction will die.
Both death and destruction are known by the LORD,
how much more the hearts of mankind are explored.
The scorners despise those correcting them so,
avoiding the wisdom that wise men know.
A heart that is joyful makes glad faces flushed,
but sorrowful hearts make the spirit feel crushed.
The heart that discerns seeks out knowledge to gain,
but mouths of the foolish eat folly in vain.
but anger's stirred up with harsh words that you say.
