November Notes

Thanksgiving '98
The trees are nearly leafless — 
that wind’s been blowing hard!
Now all those leaves I should have raked
are in my neighbor’s yard!
 
My lawn’s still green and growing
without November’s snows,
which means I’m doing summer chores
while wearing winter clothes!
 
With Y2K still looming,
El Niño in the past,
the almanac’s predicting that
next year should be a blast!
