Isaiah 4
A Remnant of Zion
And in that day will seven women take hold of one man,
and say, We'll clothe and feed ourselves if you approve our plan;
we only want to take your name
to rid ourselves of scorn and shame.
But in that day, the Branch of Yahweh will be beautiful,
and all the fruit in all the land will be most bountiful;
the pride of all those who survive,
the honor of those left alive.
Those left in Zion will be known as holy as their name —
let those found in Jerusalem be also called the same;
record the names of each of them
found living in Jerusalem.
The LORD will wash away the filth of Zion's guilt and pain,
and he will cleanse Jerusalem from every bloody stain.
His breath of justice — it shall move!
His breath of burning — it shall prove!
The LORD will make a cloud of smoke that hovers when it's light,
just as he'll bring a flaming fire to burn throughout the night;
for, over everything will be
his glory as a canopy.
And it will be a shelter and a shade from daily heat,
a hiding place from storm and rain, a refuge and retreat.
